I have been with the agency since it was called Wunderman Cato Johnson. I joined in 1999 and today I am the Talent Manager. My main role is to bring together all the departments that make up the agency, informing and maintaining a single line of action in everything that encompasses talent management from search, recruitment, incentives, assessment, etc. I am the point of reference for all employees for any question they may have.
WT is like my home, over the 23 years I have been with the agency I have been a secretary, I have studied two degrees, a master's degree, met my husband, had two children and hired more than 3,000 people. I always wanted to be a doctor, but I ended up being a psychologist and working in HR for this large multinational. Helping others was my vocation and, although I don't save lives, I do feel that I am constantly doing my bit to make their lives better.
The first sentence that comes to my mind when I wake up is: "Let's see what surprise I find today". Managing people is the most enjoyable and surprising thing, every day you encounter different situations that you have to deal with, most of them good, but there are also complex situations that make you keep your mind awake. Observing, analysing and predicting human behaviour fascinates me and my job allows me to be on the front line.
In all the years that I have been working in WT, I think I have done a lot of things, but I can't say if they are achievements. I do my job to the best of my ability, I get involved, I make decisions and I make decisions without questioning whether it can be considered an achievement or not.
Outside the agency, I make do with the little things, a beer, a bag of crisps, a good conversation and a lot of laughter. I can't imagine my life without a sense of humour, both in the joys and the hardships. I love the countryside and gardening and if I can dedicate the weekend to some kind of physical work that allows me to stop thinking, I am satisfied.
