Hamish has over 30 years of experience working in advertising and design agencies in Auckland, Melbourne, Sydney, and New York. He is currently Executive Design Director in VML’s Brand Design group, where for 8 years he’s led a team of designers creating brand identities and campaign executions for a range of clients including Dell, Xerox, JP Morgan, Cirque Du Soleil, Optimum, and New Balance, while also contributing significantly to new business initiatives.

Prior to VML, he worked at Saatchi & Saatchi New York for 9 years as Head of Design, playing a key role in the agency winning the coveted ‘Agency Of The Year’ title at the Cannes International Advertising Festival with his involvement in the outdoor and press winners scooping 6 lions including the Grand Prix for Tide Ultra. His work has been recognized by a host of additional award shows including One Show, D&AD, The Art Directors Club, Clios, Communication Arts, and The Type Directors Club.

He is equally at home designing brand identities from the ground up to crafting ad campaigns to the highest standard. Hailing from New Zealand he studied at the Auckland University of Technology before moving to the UK, Australia, and the US.
