Claire Gillis is the CEO of VML Health, the largest and fastest-growing global health offering within WPP. She manages over 2,000 heath specialists and creatives across North America, Europe and APAC.

A scientist, health economist, entrepreneur and business leader, Claire is passionate about using communications and connections to promote better access to healthcare. Claire was awarded The Women in Marketing Leadership Award in 2019 for contributions to Health and Wellness, and she was also included in the 2020 HERoes women role model lists supported by Yahoo Finance. 

Claire is a member of WPP STELLA and a supporter of Women in Creative Healthcare, a global program to promote women in creative fields. She’s the co-founder of NOON – an online platform for midlife women challenged by key life transitions – and has been a Non-Executive Director for InMed, a US charity supporting disadvantaged families. Additionally, she’s director of Developmental Therapeutics Consortium, an early oncology asset consultancy.

As a regular industry commentator across the media – including CNBC, Euro News, Creative Review, PMLiVE, Adweek, MM&M and The Drum – Claire speaks regularly on topics close to her heart including health equality. Her current passion – and subject of her master’s degree dissertation at Oxford University– is eradicating racism in clinical trials.

Claire lives with her husband, her three relatively grown-up children and two dogs. When she’s not on a Teams call, she enjoys indulging in an active social agenda.
