Ben is VML’s Chief Strategy Officer.

He leads the strategic function across the full breadth of VML UK’s client portfolio to help create some of the world’s most distinctive, effective, and connected communications.

Ben and the wider strategy team are relentlessly focused on understanding what matters to consumers, developing creative strategy that gets people talking, and applying brand strategy to every part of the customer experience, to help grow market share, build long term relationships with customers, and deliver maximum return on investment for clients.

Before his promotion to Chief Strategy Officer, Ben was Wunderman Thompson’s UK Head of Planning, where the led the UK strategy department alongside leading the agency’s HSBC account - one of its most awarded clients for creativity and effectiveness.

Earlier in his career, he worked at a variety of agencies such as adam&eveDDB and AMV BBDO where he looked after brands across multiple sectors including Financial Services, Retail, FMCG, Alcoholic Beverages, Consumer Electronics and Tech, as well as working for Government Departments such as the Department for Transport, and Non-Profit organisations including Save the Children, UNICEF and DePaul UK.

Continually celebrated for his work, Ben has holds two IPA Effectiveness Gold Awards, one IPA Effectiveness Agency of the Year Award, two Silver APG awards, and a Cannes Creative Effectiveness Lion.
