VML is pleased to announce that two of our campaigns have been shortlisted in the early rounds of the 2024 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

The Cannes Lions, regarded as the highest benchmark of creative excellence, received submissions from VML's 62 offices across 30 countries this year.

Among these, "Every Coca-Cola Is Welcome" for The Coca-Cola Company has been shortlisted for the Dan Wieden Titanium Lions. This innovative global campaign celebrates local interpretations of its iconic logo by bodegas, shopkeepers, and artists, creating a tapestry of cultural diversity and creativity. The campaign was developed by WPP Open X, led by VML and supported by Essence Mediacom and Ogilvy PR.

Additionally, "Vanishing Emails" for Amazon Web Services has been shortlisted for the Innovation Lions. This work automates the deletion of expired promotional emails using advanced algorithms, minimizing data center energy usage and reducing the advertising industry's carbon footprint.

What sets these early shortlists apart is the unique opportunity they provide for live presentations at the Cannes Lions Festival. Entrants are invited to defend their work directly to a panel of esteemed judges, offering a rare moment to showcase the creative process and the impact of their campaigns. Each presentation consists of a 12-minute showcase followed by a 10-minute Q&A session with the jury.

Winners of both the Dan Wieden Titanium Lions and Innovation Lions will be announced during the week of the festival, which runs June 17-21, 2024.
