VML leads the way as the only agency network with two creative chiefs in Cannes Lions’ top 10 rankings for 2024
The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity has announced its 2024 People Rankings, recognizing individuals behind this year’s Lion-winning work. VML is proud to have two of its senior creative leaders ranked among the top 10 Chief Creative Officers globally.
Debbi Vandeven, VML’s Global Chief Creative Officer, secured the #3 spot, while Rafael Pitanguy, Deputy Global Chief Creative Officer and Creative Lead for WPP Open X — the bespoke integrated agency model created to service The Coca-Cola Company — ranked #5.
Notably, VML is the only agency network with two leaders featured in the top 10.
Manuel (Manolo) Arroyo, EVP and Global Chief Marketing Officer of The Coca-Cola Company and a client partner of WPP Open X and VML, was also recognized in the Cannes Lions People Rankings, securing the #1 spot among Chief Marketing Officers.
The Cannes Lions People of the Year Rankings are based on the number of winning and shortlisted entries at Cannes Lions 2024. This year, VML was one of the four most awarded agencies and was also named the United States' Most Creative Company. At Cannes, Vandeven also served as Jury President of the Dan Wieden Titanium Lions, further solidifying her influence in the creative industry.
VML’s achievements at Cannes Lions 2024 include 57 Lions, with standout wins like a Grand Prix and seven Gold awards. Explore the full list of winning work here.
Beyond Cannes, Vandeven and Manuel Bordé, VML's Global Chief Creative Officer, Commerce, were recognized among the top five global creative officers by D&AD, ranking #3 and #4 respectively.
