This condition is debilitating and causes significant obstacles in daily activities, education, employment and social participation due to its adverse effects on physical functions. In the US alone, about 17,000 new SCI cases are reported annually, with 294,000 individuals currently living with it. The economic burden is significant, with care costs reaching up to $5.2 million, excluding the loss of income and decreased productivity of those affected.

Despite advancements in assistive technologies, people with disabilities still have limited interaction, restricted computer control and internet access. As a result, users experience reduced autonomy and a sense of frustration.
