Collectively our agencies in the UK have worked hard to drive progress over the past year. As we step into 2024 as VML, we are incredibly proud to reflect on the work we have done to advance the attraction, retention and growth of our female talent and this report shares just some of those achievements.

From championing future female leaders through our Fast Forward programme to kicking off inspiring partnerships with the likes of Tommy’s and The Worst Girl Gang Ever – the past 12 months has seen us double down on our ongoing commitment to affect change. We’ve had a strong focus on inclusive hiring practices, access to inspiring learning and development programmes, coaching and mentoring, as well as progressive policies and benefits.

This report shares and discusses the gender pay gap figures as of the snapshot date of 5th April 2023. At this time, our legal entities had not been merged, and as such, data in this report will be represented as follows: VML UK Network Data: this represents all our UK workforce (including our Regional and Global HQ teams in the UK) and reflects our commitment to address the gender pay gap across the whole of our UK business. Legally Required Data: the UK Government requires legal entities with 250 or more employees to publish data. For VML this includes: 1) Wunderman Thompson (UK) Limited; 2) Wunderman Thompson Commerce UK Limited.

We continue to recognise there is work to be done to achieve gender balance and progress women at senior levels within our business and acknowledge that the gender pay gap is a problem across the industry – the IPA Agency Census 2023 found an industry-wide gap of 15.2%. We are committed to closing the gap in our business and are excited about the next 12 months as we bring our people, work, and cultures together as VML, to drive even greater progress in our business and across the industry.
