Haute beauty brands are opening standalone, branded spas that offer a host of wellness services. These spaces act as an opportunity for brands to showcase what truly sets them apart, while serving to enhance consumers’ perception of their expertise.
Augustinus Bader is the skincare brand founded in 2018 by Professor Augustinus Bader, whose research into wound healing informed the creation of the brand’s signature TFC8Ò, or trigger factor complex. With the brand having seen its sales jump to $120 million in 2021, the New York Times reports, it’s now burnishing its image by opening its own spas.
The brand opened its London Skin Lab on the city’s Dover Street in early 2023, in association with the longevity clinic Lanserhof at The Arts Club, followed by its New York Skin Lab within The Webster Hotel on the city’s Greene Street. Enhancing the purported powers of the TFC8 ingredient within the brand’s skincare to promote cell renewal, the spas offer treatments such as The Renew, which employs “microdermabrasion via a diamond-encrusted tip,” to “help promote a deeper and more thorough exfoliation, removing skin’s upper layer to resurface and polish with no downtime.”
