The Detroit Experience Studio (DES) has officially launched its fifth cohort, welcoming 26 students from the Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) and returning client partner ADT, which continues its impactful collaboration with DES to provide hands-on learning opportunities for Detroit’s youth. The program, hosted in the transformed library at Communication and Media Arts (CMA) High School, began its 10-week journey on October 22, 2024, marking DES’s two-year anniversary of cultivating creativity and professional skills in the city.

Thank you to the Foundation Day volunteers, who transformed the CMA library into a welcoming and dynamic learning space. The enthusiasm and dedication of CMA’s staff—its principal, teachers, and support team—create an inspiring environment for students to engage and thrive.
Cohort 5 students will work with mentors to develop practical skills and prepare for key program milestones, including Pitch Day on January 16, 2025, and Graduation on January 23, 2025. DES remains committed to empowering Detroit’s youth with support from partners like ADT and fostering a supportive, skill-building community within the city.
About Detroit Experience Studio
Detroit Experience Studio equips Black and brown youth in Detroit to reach their creative potential and transform the advertising industry. This free, 10-week immersive program offers students hands-on experience in marketing, advertising, and design while building foundational skills and exploring creative careers. With support from the WPP Racial Equity Grant and VML and partnerships across multiple WPP agencies, DES ensures students can access transportation, technology, meals, and a stipend, creating an accessible and impactful learning journey.
