Who we’re looking for:
As a Senior Art Director at VML, you will be a driving force in the visual execution of groundbreaking creative campaigns.
You will be responsible for translating strategic visions into compelling and impactful visual solutions across a variety of platforms. You will mentor and guide a team of designers, ensuring the highest standards of visual excellence and innovation.
Your passion for design, your understanding of current trends, and your ability to collaborate effectively will be crucial to our success.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead the visual development and execution of creative concepts, ensuring alignment with brand strategy and marketing objectives.
- Oversee the art direction of projects, from initial concept to final delivery, maintaining a high level of quality and consistency.
- Mentor and inspire a team of designers, providing guidance, feedback, and opportunities for professional growth.
- Collaborate closely with copywriters, strategists, and other team members to develop integrated campaigns.
- Present creative concepts and designs to clients, effectively communicating the rationale and impact of the visual approach.
- Stay abreast of current design trends, technologies, and best practices, and share knowledge with the team.
- Ensure all visual assets are consistent with brand guidelines and legal requirements.
- Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Contribute to new business pitches and presentations, showcasing the agency's creative capabilities.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas to the creative process.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as an Art Director or Senior Designer in an agency or in-house creative environment.
- A strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of visual design skills and creative concepts.
- Experience experimenting with AI tools for design exploration, concept generation, and rapid prototyping, demonstrating a proactive approach to leveraging emerging technologies.
- Familiarity with AI-powered content creation platforms and their potential to enhance visual storytelling and streamline the design process.
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Excellent understanding of typography, layout, color theory, and visual hierarchy.
- Experience in designing digital platforms, including websites, social media, and mobile apps.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of designers.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of current design trends and technologies.
- Experience with motion graphics and video editing is a plus.
