This individual will be the “connection point” by working closely with multiple stakeholders including client procurement, internal/external legal counsel for contractual negotiations and executions, client teams for budget and contract management, VML executives for commercial advisement and strategic guidance, and the internal finance team for all commercial and client reporting and revenue assurance. This individual must have a keen understanding of business management, the ability to interpret and explain financial policies/concepts to client teams and lead commercial discussions with external stakeholders. This role will also be responsible for carrying out all SOX and compliance requirements covering a wide range of the company's activities and functions.
What you’ll do
- Help manage the commercial relationship with a very large number of stakeholders within the client’s procurement teams. Build relationships with clients and their financial partners.
- Assist the Senior Finance Manager with preparation of business unit/ division budgets and forecasts
- Work closely with the Senior Finance Manager & local management team to ensure amongst other factors that revenue targets and profit margins are met
- Review and redline client and vendor scopes of work (SOWs), amendments, MSAs, addendums for new and existing clients.
- Assist in the review and analysis of fee arrangements and hourly billing rates, including a comparison to industry averages.
- Lead pricing negotiations in significant Local market pitches and support Business Development teams with commercial responses to questions posed in RFP’s.
- Maintain a record of all contracts including each client’s contractual obligations, pricing models, rebates/discounts, term/duration, etc.; share upcoming contractual terms, amendments, etc. with client leaders.
- Compliance and financial technical reviews of market submissions. e.g. month end reporting, client profitability, corporate responsibility and other WPP reporting & compliance requirements.
- Evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of the company's internal control structure meeting all SOX and audit compliance process
- Participate in maintaining and implementing policies and procedures to manage the risk of non-compliance
- Determine whether the company's network of governance, risk management, and control processes is adequate and functioning in a manner to ensure that risks are appropriately identified and efficiently managed
- Maintain professional audit staff with sufficient knowledge, skills, and experience
Who you are
The Finance Supervisor will be a growth minded and collaborative leader with extensive commercial experience including, but not limited to pricing, contract negotiation, client profitability and capacity planning analysis, gathering and evaluating financial information and making actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
- Diploma/ Degree in Accounting
- Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA or equivalent) preferred
- 5+ years of experience in financial analysis and reporting, with a focus on SOX and compliance requirements
- Strong understanding of governance, risk management, and compliance systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
