Who we're looking for:
Our EMEA HQ Finance team is seeking a Compliance & Reporting Analyst to join the team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the EMEA Regional Reporting team and the overall management of VML EMEA. You will work with finance teams across EMEA to help create a strong finance department that provides correct and fast financial information. Your main goal is to track, review, and analyse all compliance and reporting tasks in the region, ensuring they are submitted on time and accurately.
What you'll be doing:
- Check market submissions for compliance and technical accuracy, including month-end reporting, client profitability, corporate responsibility, and other WPP reporting needs.
- Work closely with Finance Analysts and Managers to ensure accurate financial reporting that follows WPP policies and IFRS.
- Review all Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance submissions to confirm they are correct and complete, making sure they are submitted on time.
- Assist Controllers and Finance Managers with EMEA reporting and compliance for the entire region, covering areas like inter-company or lease accounting.
- Create management reports for markets and senior team members, helping markets maintain their SOX compliance and ensuring compliance at the regional level.
- Take on ad-hoc projects and tasks as needed.
What you'll need:
- A relevant degree (Accounting/Finance/Business Administration, etc.) or be a school leaver with a keen interest in finance, accounting, and business.
- Up to 2 years of practical experience; however, full training will be provided, so first-time job seekers will be considered.
- Good systems skills and an aptitude for process improvement and automation. Studying for a global accounting qualification is a plus.
- Fluency in English (both written and oral). Knowledge of other European languages will be an advantage.
- Advanced Excel skills (including Macros and Power BI as a plus) and demonstrate careful attention to detail.
- The ability to form strong relationships with colleagues and the capability to learn quickly.
