Who we're looking for:

As our Business Development Director for B2B brand and marketing communications, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and helping to convert those into new client relationships and revenue. VML helps Finnish brands grow globally - your understanding of the B2B marketing landscape, coupled with your experience of advising clients and your established networks in the Finnish market, will be instrumental.

What you'll be doing:

Market Research, Analysis and Planning

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy that is aligned with VML Finland’s objectives, and based on your own analysis of the market opportunities and trends.
  • Set clear, measurable goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) for business development initiatives.

New Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Finnish B2B sector, across industries, offerings, and services, and making use of our global agency network.
  • Lead the preparation of proposals, pitches, and presentations to secure new client relationships
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, clients, partners.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to build relationships, and engage in networking activities to enhance the company's presence in the industry.

Skills and experience required to be successful in this role include:

  • Extensive experience in business development and/or account management within a creative or marketing agency in Finland, or client-side role.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing client accounts and/or a sales quota, exceeding revenue targets, and driving business growth.
  • Proven ability to build and nurture strong client relationships based on trust and mutual value.
  • Extensive experience in managing and executing integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
  • In-depth understanding of B2B marketing, current trends, and best practices.
  • Proven growth mindset and a passion for continuous learning and development.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in business development or sales roles with a track record of achieving revenue targets.
  • Strong understanding of B2B market trends.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Fluent in English and Finnish
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
  • Strategic thinking skills with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and data analysis tools.
