The opportunity:

Senior Magento Developer needed to join our team here at VML Enterprise Solutions.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Extensive experience on development in Magento 2 
  • Recruiting employees: involved in interviews and junior team member assessments.
  • Wellbeing & inclusion: To provide care and support for trainees and junior members and help foster an inclusive environment.
  • Promote the benefits of good engineering practices.
  • Convert requirements into technical and functional solutions for large, complex projects.
  • Ensure that any customization aligns with the underlying Magento architecture and product roadmap.
  • Define the architectural approach and develop the integration between Magento and
  • 3rd party -applications / legacy systems (fulfillment, PIM, payment …etc)
  • Provide feature estimates.
  • Develop and enhance new and existing applications.
  • Write, test, and deploy code using established standards and procedures.
  • Champion of Unit Testing in PHP / Magento.
  • Understand and adhere to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain existing software according to company standards and procedures
  • Design and deliver formal or informal training.
  • Review deliverables and provide performance feedback Recommend process and technical improvements.
  • Lead and mentor other developers (some of whom will not have Magento experience).

  • Experience in software development including experience developing in Adobe Commerce / Cloud
  • Good communication skills/proven record of providing technical direction
  • Very experienced in integrating Magento to 3rd party applications / legacy systems (fulfilment, PIM, payment etc)
  • Expertise with development life-cycle methodologies and best practices
  • Experience of Continuous Integration
  • Strong knowledge of Magento technical guidelines
  • Experience in Object Oriented PHP development (at least 10 years)
  • Experience developing Magento modules
  • Experience with HTML, XHTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT, XSL
  • Experience of Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, nginx, Docker, Xdebug, New Relic, AWS
  • In depth Knowledge of development practices within the software delivery lifecycle ideally within a Commerce environment
  • An advocate of code quality, Continuous Improvement and industry recognised Best Practices
  • Be experienced in code and unit test reviews and have experience of using static analysis tools and make recommendations in this area
  • Experience of mentoring team members
  • Knowledge of Agile development practices and estimating experience within an Agile project environment
  • Strong communication skills in English to ensure the Engineering team vision is understood and implemented correctly.
  • A mature and professional individual who is self-motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Strong emotional intelligence
  • Excellent planning and work prioritisation skill, have the ability to manage project and mentoring activities.
