Things to Do
OLD TOWN LE SUQUET
Above the bustling promenades of Cannes lies the beautiful, medieval quarter of Le Suquet. Away from the glitz and glamour of the busy marina is the charming and tranquil Old Town, waiting to be explored. Le Suquet is easily walkable from central Cannes; enjoy a leisurely climb through the steep, winding streets or alternatively take the petit train that runs up the hill.
CASINO BARRIÈRE
Facing the sparkling Mediterranean, the mythical Palais des Festivals et des Congrès extends over 3,000 m², making it the largest Casino in the region, with 245 slot Machines, 40 electronic English Roulette stations, 10 Poker and four Blackjack tables. The casion is also known for its French hits, pop, rock, magic shows, musicals, cabaret and dinner shows.
THE MARINA
There are many ports in the marina of Cannes! Enjoy a relaxing walk by the water with an amazing view, complete with beautiful yachts.
THE PAINTED WALLS
These paintings, enjoyed by residents and visitors alike, adorn the walls of buildings along streets and avenues at various locations across the city. Based on film-related themes, these murals pay homage to the long and fruitful love story between Cannes and the cinema.
MUSÉE de la CASTRE
The Musée de la Castre presents collections belonging to the city of Cannes: primitive art of Himalaya-Tibet, Arctic, pre-Columbian America, Oceania, Mediterranean antiquities; musical instruments from Asia, Africa, Oceania, and America; and a 19th-century landscape painting with the little masters of Provence.
EGLISE NOTRE DAME d’ESPERANCE
Next to the old fortress you can also beat the heat for a few minutes in this solemn gothic and renaissance church, constructed in the 1500s. It’s an austere-looking building from the outside, but there are some things to pique your interest inside.
RUE d’ANTIBES
Known as one of the best shopping streets in the south of France. Window shop as you stroll down this beautiful street or indulge in retail therapy. Here you can find elegant antique furniture, fantastic jewelry, and an array of upscale shops along this street.
CASTLE HILL
Soak up the breathtaking views from the top of the hill where the Castle of Nice once stood. Castle Hill, which towers over Nice’s historic core, is the most popular park in town.
