In Tomarrazón, La Guajira, we're tackling menstrual poverty, affecting 50% of women in vulnerable communities. Our campaign, "Proud Legacy," guarantees 100% menstrual rights and educates and empowers women through an innovative sewing workshop. This workshop teaches three generations to make sanitary pads, incorporating color guides to monitor menstrual health. This holistic approach provides a sustainable and affordable solution, fostering dignity and pride and breaking the menstrual taboo across Colombia.

In Colombia, menstrual poverty affects one in two women in vulnerable communities, preventing access to adequate sanitary products and perpetuating infections and stigmas.
Inspired by Tomarrazón's Afro-Indigenous heritage, we envisioned a sewing workshop reviving the tradition of making sanitary pads, promoting an intergenerational dialogue about menstrual health.
"Proud Legacy" is a campaign combining menstrual education and sustainable solutions, empowering women through innovation and respect for their culture.
With every woman in Tomarrazón now having guaranteed access to menstrual rights and hygiene tools, we aim to replicate this model throughout Colombia, transforming the legacy of menstruation into one of pride and empowerment.
